Property Tax Exemption: A Path to Economic Empowerment

Through our Property Tax Exemption Program, we aim to assist Indigenous and Aboriginal Americans in reclaiming financial sovereignty. Utilizing the legal frameworks available under 501(d) status, we help individuals and tribal entities secure property tax exemptions for properties held under Indigenous or communal ownership.

How Does It Work?

  1. 501(d) Formation & Determination Letter: As part of our process, we guide you through establishing a 501(d) entity, which qualifies for tax exemption under federal law. This status applies to religious or apostolic organizations that operate under a communal financial structure, enabling tax exemption for income derived from communal property.

  2. Quitclaim Deed Process: To effectively place property under Indigenous ownership and qualify for tax exemption, we assist with the transfer of property ownership through a quitclaim deed, ensuring the property is recognized under the rightful Indigenous or tribal jurisdiction.

  3. Annual Registration of Property Tax Exemption: After the deed transfer, the property must be registered annually with the local County, Parish, or Borough Office to maintain tax-exempt status. We provide ongoing support to ensure compliance and proper documentation each year.

Why Property Tax Exemption?

Property tax exemptions empower Indigenous communities by reducing the financial burden of land ownership, allowing for reinvestment in community development, education, and healthcare. By aligning property ownership with Indigenous legal frameworks, individuals reclaim sovereignty over their land and its use.
